2-month-old James who suffers from heart disease and has a cleft lip. Pray
James will gain weight and get stronger so he can have the surgeries he
desperately needs to repair his heart. On the day he was born, James was

was rescued by police and taken to a government-run institution, then to New

Pray for God’s
healing touch to be upon 2-month-old Annabel who is hospitalized in serious
condition. Annabel, who was abandoned shortly after birth, was born with a
severe esophageal and tracheal deformity and has spent most of her short life
in the hospital receiving nutrition through an IV. Pray her condition will
stabilize so she can have surgery to correct the medical problems in her tiny

Sudan, South Sudan

Keep in prayer
16,000 Sudanese refugee children and families who are stranded along a dirt
road in South Sudan’s Upper Nile State with almost no water. Pray for these
refugees who have fled fighting between the army and rebels in Sudan and are
now running out of water. Please pray that God will provide the resources
needed to care for those who are at great risk of dying from dehydration and
diarrhea. Pray for children who are sick and dying. Pray that new water sources
will be found quickly for these vulnerable children and people.

Pray for the
estimated 110,000 refugees who have crossed the border into South Sudan, trying
to flee the fighting in their home country of Sudan. Please pray that
sufficient humanitarian aid will reach children in South Sudan refugee camps

Turkey, Syria

Continue to keep
in prayer the 46,000 Syrian refugees living in eight tented camps just inside
Turkey. Pray for children and families suffering in the sweltering summer heat
during Ramadan, the Muslim fasting month. Pray God will provide for refugee

Pray for a
peaceful end to the conflict and fighting that has been raging in nearby Syria for
the past 16 months. Pray that Syrian refugee families will be able to return to
their homes and live in their own country soon.

Keep 16-year-old
Kourtney and her family in prayer as they go through a challenging season. Pray
God will bring healing to Kourtney who was recently involved in a car accident
and may have broken her arm. Pray for Kourtney’s mother who is hospitalized in
intensive care for a severe kidney infection and for her grandmother who is
dying of pneumonia. Pray God will bring comfort and peace to this family during
such a difficult time.

in prayer for the children and people of Aurora, Colorado who were affected by
the July 20 movie theater shooting during the midnight premiere of a popular

healing touch to be upon the 58 people injured in the shooting. Pray for
comfort and healing for all those traumatized by the violence. Hold close in
prayer the families of the 12 people killed when the shooter began firing into
the audience with an assault rifle. Pray for children, youth, and adults in
this community who are frightened by this violent act and struggling to
understand it.

for Louise* and Brad* and the three siblings—Patrick*, Megan*, and Christopher*—they
fostered and then adopted. Pray God will provide the resources needed to care
for these special needs children.

Pray 10-year-old
Patrick will receive the help he needs to cope with Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS). Pray for his
parents as Patrick is acting out and being very rebellious.

Please pray that
God will bring the right person to this family to help care for the children
during their parents’ work hours.

Continue to pray
for Megan, who was molested by one of Brad’s nephews during a visit several
summers ago. Pray for healing for Brad’s 14-year-old niece Lucy* who was also
molested by this teenager, her own brother. Pray that Lucy will be able to
receive help and support now that she is living with Brad and Louise. *Name changed for protection and/or
confidentiality.
