Give thanks to
God that female enrollment in public schools in Afghanistan has risen from
5,000 under Taliban rule to 2.5 million now. Pray these girls and young women
will receive a quality education. Pray their schools will employ competent

Pray for girls
who are threatened by militants because they attend school. More than 100
school girls were poisoned in northern Afghanistan several weeks ago. Pray for
their healing and recovery.

Pray for girls
who attend underground schools in areas where the Taliban presence is
increasingly strong. Pray for their safety and that of their teachers who also
risk much to educate female students.
o
Keep in prayer
the two million Afghan girls who do not attend school. Pray every child in
Afghanistan will have an equal opportunity for an education.

Please pray for
the more than 15,000 children in southeastern Afghanistan who are deprived of an
education by the Taliban. Militants have forced 50 schools to close in
retaliation for a government ban on motorcycles in a region where insurgents

Pray for teachers
and students who have been and continue to be threatened by Taliban militants. Please
pray for teachers who are robbed of their paychecks by Taliban fighters who use
the money to purchase weapons. Pray for peace and stability in this region.
Burma, China

Continue to pray
for the tens of thousands of Kachin ethnic hill tribe refugees who have fled
attacks by the Burma Army and escaped to camps in southern China. Pray for the
children and families in the more than 40 refugee camps along the Burma-China
border. Please pray for a ceasefire between the Burma Army and the KIA (Kachin

Pray that God
will provide food, shelter, quilts, and medical care for the estimated 50,000
Kachin refugees in these camps. Many of the camps are in heavily forested areas
that are difficult to reach.

Pray for those
whose makeshift tents are wearing out as the rainy season begins. Please pray
for children who have no dry place to sleep at night because the plastic tarp
over their heads is disintegrating.
·
Give God thanks
for the China House Church relief workers and the support they are providing
refugees in the border camps.
Honduras
·
Please keep in
prayer children with disabilities who are receiving treatment at the CURE
International Hospital in Honduras. Pray for 11-year-old Tania…that God will
meet her physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
United States
·
Continue to pray
for 14-year-old Julia who is going through a challenging time in her life. Pray
that the surgery she’ll have soon will correct the severe scoliosis in her
back. Julia wears a back brace 23 hours a day, including at school, in order to
correct the scoliosis. The brace has only kept the curvature from getting
worse. Please pray God will comfort Julia as she faces this intimidating
surgery.

And also keep Julia
in prayer as she changes schools. Her present school situation has been
extremely difficult and isolating. Pray Julia will find a group of supportive
and caring friends and that she will heal from the bullying she experienced at
her old school.

Give thanks to
God for the arrest, prosecution, and sentencing of Richard P. Mette, a man who sexually
abused a little girl when she was 8 and 9 years old. http://tinyurl.com/cbta4aq

Pray for the
healing of this child and for her safety. Pray she is able to lead a fulfilling
and fruitful life despite the violent abuse she experienced. Give God thanks
she didn’t have to testify in court since Mette pleaded guilty to the sexual
abuse.

Pray God will
bring healing into this man’s life during his 15-year prison sentence.
o
Pray for any
other children he may have abused.
Faces of Children

Please pray for
Walter and Mayra following the miscarriage of their baby boy. Pray that God
will comfort these Faces of Children intercessors and their other children during
their season of sorrow and loss.
