Uganda
Praise God that a number of girls in the Oasis Trust Bambejja Project in Uganda are now in full-time employment and others are in training programs.
• Pray for the teenage mothers, that they will learn motherhood skills to enable them to look after their children well.
• Pray for the staff team to work together in the best possible way for the good of these needy children and for God’s glory.
The Beersheba Project is a new ministry of Oasis Trust in Mbale, Uganda, to reach, educate and support vulnerable girls (mainly aged 10 to 14), providing them with important life skills and information on sex education, HIV/AIDS, self-esteem and self-confidence, and encouraging them into formal education or vocational training.
• Please pray for development of the work with the families and a Saturday morning children’s club.
• Pray for provision of funding for suitable buildings and for running costs.
Tanzania
Compassion International asks for prayer for the children of Nolini village in Tanzania, who are extremely poor.
• Pray for the provision of a tractor to help 30 families to support themselves through farming.
Malawi
Vision Ledd, who are working with children in Lilongwe, Malawi, are concerned about child sexual exploitation in the area. Two brothels in the catchment area of one of their church projects are using 10 to 12-year-old children taken from villages 100 kilometers away.
• Please pray for a long-term solution to this situation.
Zambia
The Jireh Orphanage Ministry in Zambia is praising God for answered prayer. After being closed by the authorities, the orphanage has now reopened and is taking in children.
• Please pray for urgent provision of finance to enable them to finish building and provide for the children.
Please pray for the ministry of Kids Alive in Lusaka, Zambia, where hundreds of needy orphaned and abandoned children live on the streets. Kids Alive has been able, through God’s provision, to purchase three buildings and 21 acres of land to provide homes for up to 200 children.
• Please pray for the development of this project and the financial support needed for it.
Zimbabwe
Many people have been displaced due to mass evictions in Harare and are now living in overcrowded conditions without access to water and sanitation. Feeding programs and community-based orphan care projects are struggling as the number of children needing help has increased sharply.
• Please pray for the children in Harare, Zimbabwe.
• Pray for the caregivers as they cope with the stress of this situation.
• Pray for financial provision for school fees, food and clothes for the children and for people who can give them loving care.
