Romania
Please continue to pray for the provision of a new bus for the Caminul Felix ministry in Romania. Pray for Oristi, a 16 year-old boy who has recently come to live in the hostel. Pray that the love and care from his new ‘parents’ will enable him to gain confidence and self-respect. Pray also for another family to come into this ministry to provide a new home for 15 children taken from the street.
Romania International Children’s Foundation has a home for up to 24 abandoned and at risk boys aged 7-18. They seek to reintegrate children with their own families, or if that is not possible to place them with Romanian foster families. Older teenagers are also prepared for independent life. Please pray for wisdom in finding suitable foster homes, where all family members are in agreement and a suitable, safe environment can be provided for the children.
JOY is a small ministry which seeks to support, encourage and fund Romanians who are working with the poor and needy. Each year several teams go from the UK to work with disabled, disadvantaged or abandoned children in Romania. Please pray that God will provide for the development of this work and especially that it will be a real encouragement to those who are working in difficult situations.
Ukraine
The Village of Hope in Kiev, Ukraine has foster homes for needy children. Please pray for them as they look for 3 sets of foster parents for the homes and also for wisdom in placing 30 children in the homes.
Albania
Please pray for Odeta, a girl living in a home for disabled children run by God Loves Albania Ministries. Odeta attempted suicide at 15, broke her back and is now confined to a wheelchair. Thank God that she has committed her life to him. Pray that she would get on well with other young people at the home, and resist temptations. Pray also for Tredalina, another disabled girl in the home, who needs to know God and learn to forgive others.
Russia
Living Hope works with children who live on the streets of Vladivostok, Russia, with a day centre and mobile soup kitchen. They are also starting to provide homes for the children to give them the family they do not have. Please pray for provision of land outside the city where a shelter can be built to give the children a warm, dry, safe place to stay and learn about the love of Jesus. Pray for Sasha, Vika, Igor and Kosta who have made a decision to get off the streets and live with Natasha, one of the staff.
Spain
Please pray for the Rainbows of Hope team in Madrid as they are in a time of change and adjustment. Praise God that the children’s ministry at the community centre is going well and God has opened new doors. Pray especially for good relationships as the team joins with a Spanish church to work with immigrant children in another suburb of Madrid.
