Viva Network Prayer Requests for February 20-25, 2006

Philippines
Please pray for the children in Samar Leyte.
Pray for the children served by Philippine Children’s Ministries Network, a network for children at risk, in Makati City.
Pray that the speakers’ messages at the HIV/AIDS forum on February 27, 28 and March 3 will reach the hearts of their audience so that they will be compelled to care for children affected by this disease.

The work of Kids Alive is progressing well (April-June 2005, wk.1), particularly in Burma where they are now caring for 1100 children on 24 sites. Please pray for the Lois School which takes 190 infant and junior children and gives them a good education. They also hear Bible stories teaching them of God’s love and plan for their lives. Please pray for the development of the work in this troubled land.

Continue to pray for the work of Christian Care for Children with Disabilities in Thailand offering day care and rehabilitation to children living in Government Homes. Pray for Mos, an 11 year-old boy with cerebral palsy, who had no use of his hands and feet when he came to Rainbow House 4 years ago. He is now able to use his feet for writing and computer work. Praise God that his family have become Christians through the witness of the staff. Pray for volunteers who can give the loving care that these children need.

The Jubilee Society in Mongolia held a number of camps for children during the summer in Jigjid where the air is cleaner and fresher than in Ulaanbaatar. Some camps were for children from the Ger communities and others for children from the hospital, which gave them the opportunity to form friendships with others and to enjoy healthy, nourishing food. Please pray that the love which was shown to these children will help them to understand that there is a God who cares.

Praise God that Mark, who ran away from Lama House in the Philippines, has found his uncle and is living with relatives in a ghetto in Manila. Please pray that he will come back to live at Lama House while keeping contact with the relatives. Pray especially that he will be reunited with his sister. Pray also for Yao, Brent, Aldoni and Wahweh, who cannot speak, that God will heal them and enable them to learn to speak.

Please pray for Clinton who ran away from Lama House in the Philippines and has been taken into care again after living on the street. His brother Gener lives at Lama House and they have found out that their 15 year-old sister is working in a bar. Pray that she can be rescued and that the whole family will be together. Pray also for Christopher, aged 14, who was in prison, was re-arrested shortly after his release and is now in an adult jail.

Praise God that Grace Home in the Philippines has now been officially licensed to operate as a residential facility and community based agency for street children and youth in conflict with the law. Thank God that Bryan (16) and Cristopher (18), who were the first two boys to be taken in, have both come to know Jesus as Saviour and Lord. Pray that they will grow in the knowledge of the Lord. Please pray for adequate regular funding for this home.

Please pray for the Cervantes family known to the Action International team in the Philippines The three children are now living with their grandmother, but the father has no fixed income and they have to earn money for their food. Pray for protection for the children and that the whole family will come to know of God’s love for them. Continue praying also for the ministry to “Special Needs Kids”, that those working with them will be given wisdom to enable suitable help to be found for each one in need.
