Brazil
- Please keep in prayer children of Brazil who live in abject poverty, whose families earn less than $45 a month. Pray that government programs to eradicate poverty continue to be a priority—more than 16 million Brazilians live in extreme poverty. Syria
- Keep the children and people of Syria in prayer during this time of political unrest and violence. Pray for children whose parents have been taken away by Syrian authorities as anti-government protests and military crackdowns continue around the country. Sudan
- Pray for children and people throughout Sudan as violence involving south Sudan’s army, rebel militia fighters, tribal groups, and bands of renegade fighters (allegedly armed by the north) continues. The south has fought the north for decades over conflicts in religion, ideology, ethnicity, and oil. Please pray that the differences between these two regions can be resolved fairly and peacefully. Sudan, Nigeria, Niger, Mali, Ethiopia, Ghana
- Give thanks to God that the Guinea worm disease is very close to being eradicated from the face of the earth! The parasitic Guinea worm is spread by drinking unboiled, stagnant water that contains the larvae. In 1986, there were over 3.5 million cases in 20 countries in Africa and Asia. Thanks be to God for the volunteers of the Carter Center who have worked hard to stop the transmission of the Guinea worm in Niger and Nigeria.
- Please pray for the estimated 1,800 people who have this painful disease—the majority of those are in South Sudan. Pray for children who suffer with it and experience the debilitating fevers, blisters, and extreme pain when the worms emerge. http://tinyurl.com/3ndcxr8
United States
- Please keep 8-year-old Joey and his 12-year-old brother Isaac held close in prayer during their single father’s deployment in Afghanistan with the United States Army. Pray for 4-year-old Austin and 2-year-old Leah whose mother is also deployed to Afghanistan. Pray for 12-year-old Megan and 9-year-old Jack whose father left on his second deployment for Iraq last week. Pray for all children of deployed military personnel.
o Pray especially for those who struggle psychologically and emotionally because their mother or father is deployed to a war zone. Many suffer great anxiety, have problems sleeping, and have difficulties at school and home. Please pray that God will bring comfort and peace to these hurting children.

- Give praise to God for the work and mission of the members and staff of Bdecan (pronounced Bah-DAY Chan) Presbyterian Church, the only Indian Presbyterian Church in the state of North Dakota, also located on the Spirit Lake Reservation. http://www.lakeregionparish.

This youth minister will work with at-risk youth living on the Spirit Lake Reservation. Pray for the person God desires to fill this position and pray that God will reveal this person soon. Pray for the commissioned lay pastor who serves the Bdecan Church as well as three other churches in the presbytery.
