Central African Republic
- Pray for the children of the Central African Republic (CAR) who are at great risk of being abducted and forced into the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) and other armed groups fighting in this country. Pray for the more than 1,500 CAR boys and girls who have been abducted by the Lord’s Resistance Army and used as child soldiers or sex slaves. The LRA has been terrorizing communities throughout central Africa since it was driven out of northern Uganda several years ago.
- Pray for children forced into other rebel groups fighting the Central African Republic government and for children forced into self defense militias formed to protect communities. The Convention of Patriots for Justice and Peace (CPJP) uses child soldiers in its battle with the CAR government and in its attacks on schools and communities in the northeast part of the country.
- Pray that all child soldiers and children forced to be sex slaves will be freed from this horrible form of slavery. Pray for the healing and restoration of those who have escaped or have been demobilized. Pray that their families and communities will support them in the long, difficult healing process. Pray that God will provide the resources these traumatized children need for reintegration and restoration. Pray that the situation in the CAR will receive more attention and that the international laws against recruiting and using children in conflict situations will be upheld. http://tinyurl.com/3bqq6wz
Haiti, United States, Europe
- Please keep the children of the Cathedral School in Port au Prince, Haiti held close in prayer as they continue with their education. Their school and church facilities were completely destroyed in the January 2010 earthquake. Pray for the choir children who are touring the United States now and give thanks to God that they are safe and receiving tutoring during their tour. Pray for the nuns who teach at the Cathedral School and pray for God’s guidance and provision as they work to get the school rebuilt.
United States
- Please pray that God will bring support and encouragement to Judy, the mother of three adopted children. Judy is overwhelmed by the issues she and her children are facing: the lack of support from their school system; a husband who retreats into his work to avoid being home; and in-laws who make false allegations against Judy and disagree with her treatment of her children.
- Pray for 13-year-old Gabby* and her adoptive mother Anne* during this stressful time in their lives. Pray that Gabby will be able to overcome a very difficult childhood—she was adopted after several years of being shuttled around in her birth family. Pray for healing in Gabby’s life—she is acting out in a sexual way, having tantrums, and running away. Pray that the men with whom Gabby has been involved will be prosecuted for taking sexual advantage of this hurting little girl. Pray that God will guide Anne and give her wisdom and discernment in dealing with her struggling daughter.
- Give thanks to God for continued answers to prayer concerning 4-month-old Lexi, a baby born with a multitude of physical challenges due to maternal drug use. Doctors were very concerned about her ability to eat, her eyes, her heart, seizures, and developmental growth issues all caused from her premature birth and brain damage.
- Thanks be to God that Lexi continues to gain weight; is sleeping most of the night; that her retinas are fully mature; and that she is off all seizure medication. Praise God that the hole in her heart is closing properly; that she can hold her head up, turn over, and scoot herself around in her bed; and that her recent neurological exam was very encouraging.
- Pray that God will bring peace to Lexi’s biological parents—both of whom have had their parental rights terminated. Pray that they will know in their hearts that Lexi is in good hands with her paternal aunt and uncle who want to adopt her. Give thanks to God that Lexi is so loved and cared for in her new home. Pray that God will continue to be with this precious little girl and provide for her.
- Please keep the now 15-year-old victim of a pedophile held close in prayer. Pray for God’s healing mercies in her life. Thanks be to God for the arrest and conviction of the predator who sexually abused this young girl. Pray that God will be at work in his life. Pray for any other victims of this abuser.
