Prayer Requests for November 15, 2010

India, United States (Dalit Freedom Network – http://www.dalitnetwork.org/)

  • Please pray that God will protect the Dalit Freedom Network (DFN) rescue workers as they help victims of trafficking and raise awareness about this issue. Pray for those children and adults who have been trafficked and exploited…for healing and hope for a brighter future.
  • Pray that God will provide more sponsors for the children attending DFN Education Centers. Pray also that God will provide the resources needed to add onto the schools as there continue to be so many children waiting to get into the Dalit Education Centers.
  • Pray that God will be with the team in India as they continue to work in the villages and bring God’s love to those who do not know God.
  • Please pray for God’s peace and truth to come to Orissa State as there are still many Christians living in the jungles, fearful for their lives and the lives of their children.
  • Pray for the U.S. staff and volunteers with DFN as they work to raise awareness about the Dalit people and what God is doing among them. Pray for their strength, perseverance, and for many wonderful opportunities to share this ministry.

Indonesia

  • Please keep the children and people of Indonesia held close in prayer as they deal with multiple natural disasters—earthquakes, a tsunami, and volcanic eruptions—throughout the archipelago.
  • Pray for those in the Mentawai Islands who lost family members, homes, livelihoods, schools, businesses, and crops because of a tsunami triggered by a powerful undersea earthquake off western Sumatra.
  • Pray for the children and people of central Java as they deal with the aftereffects of Mount Merapi’s eruptions. Pray for those who have been injured in the volcanic eruptions and by the heavy covering of ash. Pray for those who have lost everything—loved ones, homes, crops—because of the volcanic eruptions. Please keep in prayer children and families who have been relocated from the area. Pray for their safety and provision.

United States

  • Please keep those who work for Child Protective Services (CPS) organizations around the country in prayer as they serve abused and at-risk children and struggling families.
    • Give thanks to God for the willingness of these individuals to do some very challenging and difficult work—investigating situations of abuse and neglect, removing children who have been hurt, working with parents to help them regain custody of their children, and placing children in safe homes.
    • Pray for their safety, emotional health, spiritual wellbeing, and leadership skills.
    • Pray that God will bless them with wisdom and discernment in their interactions with children, parents, advocates, and those in the legal system.
  • Pray for children in the CPS system, for those who have been removed from their homes, for those living in foster care. Pray for children who have suffered emotional and physical abuse at the hands of those charged with their care and nurture.
  • Pray for 6-month-old Kayden. And pray for three brothers…6-year-old Alessandro, 4-year-old Tito, and 1-year-old Angel. Pray that God will provide for all of their needs as well as material needs. Pray for a loving and caring community of support to surround these precious children.
  • Please keep the children, youth, and people of the Spirit Lake Reservation in North Dakota held close in prayer. Over seventy percent of the population on the reservation is under 25 and there is a high incidence of suicides, as well as drug and alcohol abuse, and children giving birth to children. http://www.spiritlakenation.com/
    • Pray for those affected by flooding at Devils Lake where the rising lake level is ruining septic systems and wells, flooding basements, and causing mold growth in many homes. Pray for those who do not have the resources or capacity to fix these problems.
  • Give thanks to God for the students of Cass County, ND and their charitable efforts to collect food and funds for local food pantries through the Fill The Dome event. Since 2007, they have collected over 200 tons of food and more than $150,000 for local food pantries. Please pray for these young people as they work on this year’s event to fill the entire floor of the Fargodome (80,000 square feet) with food.http://fillthedome.org/
