Chile
- Please continue to pray for the children and people of Chile who are trying to pick up the pieces of their lives following the February 27 earthquake, one of the strongest ever recorded.
- Pray for those who lost everything in the quake and have few resources to replace their homes, businesses, and belongings. Poor and middle class families seem to have been affected most by this earthquake. Pray for those in the coastal communities who not only experienced the earthquake, but the tsunami it caused. Pray that God will provide the resources necessary for these families to recover.
- Pray for the rebuilding efforts in this country—that those with authority will use their power to help and serve, and not abuse it. Pray that assistance will reach each of the estimated two million Chileans affected by the quake. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/

Mozambique, Angola
- Please keep in prayer the estimated 130,000 children and people of central Mozambique who have been evacuated because of torrential rain that has caused severe flooding along the Zambezi river. Pray for families in southern Angola who have also been displaced by the flooding along this river. Give thanks to God for the evacuation plans of both countries that move families to higher ground at the start of the rainy season. http://www.alertnet.org/

- Pray for 9-year-old Martin who was accidentally run over by a relative who didn’t see him behind the vehicle. Give thanks to God that Martin’s injuries aren’t life threatening. Please pray that he will experience complete healing. Pray that God will bring peace to Martin’s family and the relative who hit him.
- Please continue to keep teenager Ben held close in prayer. Pray that God will completely heal Ben who suffers from emotional and psychological problems as a result of a very traumatic childhood. Pray that God will provide Ben with the strength, courage, and determination to work on healing his mind and body. Pray that God will reveal God’s love and comforting presence to Ben in multiple ways throughout the coming days, weeks, and months. Pray for Ben’s adoptive parents as they struggle to help their son. Pray that God will give them discernment and wisdom in dealing with Ben and his issues. Thanks be to God for these loving parents and their commitment to helping this struggling child.
- Give thanks to God that the flooding in North Dakota was contained. And thanks be to God for the efforts of the students from the Fargo Public Schools who helped with the sandbagging efforts throughout the week. Pray for children, youth, and adults who were traumatized by last year’s record flooding and the threat of more this spring.
- Please keep in prayer the family and friends of Sarah, a college student who was killed while on a mission trip over spring break.
- Thanks be to God for providing 10-year-old Dallas and his mother, a recovering alcoholic, another place to live that will accommodate the dog Dallas was given by his mother’s boyfriend. Please continue to pray for Dallas and his 19-year-old brother Andrew who has recently been released from jail into his mother’s custody. Andrew is developmentally delayed, was abused in foster care, and suffers from Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (which can cause poor memory, attention deficits, impulsive behavior, and poor cause-effect reasoning, as well as secondary disabilities such as mental health problems and drug addiction). Pray that God will guide Dallas and Andrew’s mother—that she will make better decisions for her small family. Pray that she will accept responsibility for her actions and behave with maturity.
- Please continue to pray for Ginger and her three sons. Ginger’s breast cancer spread to her brain and she is now non-responsive. Pray for her sons (6, 11, and 17 years old) who are in foster care and unable to see their mother very often. Pray for the boys’ father who is out of prison now, but not allowed contact with his sons. Pray that God will bring comfort and peace to Ginger and her sons. Pray that God will provide a very good home for these boys and the help they’ll need to get through this difficult situation.
