Prayer Requests for March 15, 2010

Burma (Free Burma Rangers—www.freeburmarangers.org)

  • Please pray for the ethnic hill tribe children injured when the Burma Army attacked a school in Northern Karen State, Burma. Give thanks that they are healing well and that they were able to receive treatment from the Free Burma Rangers medics. http://www.freeburmarangers.org/Reports/2010/20100224.html
  • Pray for the family and friends of 16-year-old Saw Roe Bee Moo who was critically wounded in the attack and later died. Continue to keep in prayer the 2,100 families and children on the run and hiding in the jungles of Burma. Give thanks to God for the new relief teams that joined existing Free Burma Ranger teams in the area to distribute humanitarian aid and provide medical care. Pray for safe havens for these internally displaced people (IDPs) and peace in the region. http://www.freeburmarangers.org/Reports/2010/20100226.html

Kazakhstan, United States

  • Please pray that God will provide a community of support to help 1-year-old Tia who needs medical care and a forever family. Tia is being raised in an orphanage in Kazakhstan and can’t get medical treatment until she is adopted. Pray that Tia’s case would find favor with the Kazakh government so she can have this surgery even if she hasn’t been adopted.
  • Pray that God will provide discernment for Tami who is advocating on Tia’s behalf from the United States. Pray that God will provide a forever family for Tia.

Nigeria

Sudan

  • Pray for the children and people of the Darfur region of Sudan as fighting between the Sudanese army and rebels in the area increases. An estimated 40,000 civilians have fled the fighting and aid workers have been blocked from entering the area. Pray for children and families who are without shelter, food, water, and medical care. Pray for peace and healing in this region. http://alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/HEA136192.htm

United States

  • Please keep 2-year-old Calissa held close in prayer as she goes through multiple surgeries and medical procedures to repair the damage to her face after being bitten by the family dog. Give thanks to God that the prognosis for her recovery is better than expected. Pray for her complete physical healing and that she won’t have lasting trauma from the attack.
  • Pray that God will bring comfort and peace to the family of a young mother recently killed in an automobile accident. Please keep Leighann’s husband Greg and her three children—10-year-old Hayden, 5-year-old Bailey, and 4-year-old Malea—in prayer during their season of sorrow.

Faces of Children

  • Please keep Eric, the son of a Faces of Children prayer partner, in prayer as he is scheduled to be deployed with the U.S. Army this year. Pray that God will guide Eric and help him make wise decisions. Pray that Eric will be surrounded by wise men and women who will share God’s word with him. Pray that Eric will listen to the Holy Spirit and be an instrument of God’s love and mercy.
