Bolivia (Amistad Mission – http://amistadmission.org/
- Please pray for the 13 university students at Amistad Mission who have overcome abuse, abandonment, and extreme poverty as they strive to become Christian leaders in their country. Pray that God will provide them with the courage, wisdom, and strength to persevere with their education and leadership training. Pray for all of the children and young people under the care of Amistad Mission in Bolivia.
Kenya
- Give thanks to God for recent rains that have helped lift the drought in Kenya. Pray for children and parents who do not have homes to shelter them during this heavy rainy season. Pray that the torrential rains will be a blessing for the children and people of Kenya and not a curse.
Mexico
- Please pray for Edward*, his children (1, 4, and 17 years old), and his wife who are very concerned about Edward’s safety. On the way to work, Edward’s car was blown up. His family doesn’t know if he survived or was killed—Juarez authorities won’t give them any information. Pray that God will comfort this worried family.
United States
- Please keep the children and young people at Children’s Hope held close in prayer. Pray for healing for these emotionally disturbed children. Give thanks to God for the staff at Children’s Hope who care so deeply for these children and young people. Pray that God will sustain them in this difficult and demanding ministry.
- Pray for Andrea, an eight-year breast cancer survivor, and her husband, and children as they deal with the news of her re-diagnosis. Pray for God’s comforting presence for her children: 9-year-old Josh, 11-year-old Zach, and 13-year-old Lauren. Pray for Andrea’s healing and for the peace of Jesus Christ to soothe this anxious family.
- Please pray for Michelle and her husband who live in a homeless shelter. Pray that God will heal Michelle, who is pregnant, but has serious health issues. Pray for Emma, the baby girl Michelle will deliver soon, then give up for adoption. Please pray for this young couple as they go through what may be a very painful, emotional experience. Pray for the family adopting Emma—that God will provide a community of support for them.
- Pray for God’s healing touch on 15-year-old Sophie* who has a cyst in her stomach. Pray that Sophie’s parents will be able to obtain medical care for her. They don’t qualify for medical assistance and have no insurance.
- Pray for Sophie’s half-brother, 17-year-old Nathan*, who has a mental illness. The only way Nathan’s mother was able to get him into treatment was to file a complaint with the sheriff’s department saying Nathan was a threat to the seven other children in the family. Please keep this struggling family held close in prayer.
- Please pray that 19-year-old Allen*, who is in the legal system for inappropriate behavior, will be placed in a treatment facility instead of prison as he isn’t likely to survive prison. Allen is developmentally delayed, was abused in foster care, and suffers from Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (which can cause poor memory, attention deficits, impulsive behavior, and poor cause-effect reasoning, as well as secondary disabilities such as mental health problems and drug addiction).

fpchouston/index.php?id= pwgather - Thanks be to God for the successful opening of the “Hope: Behind the Red Bamboo” art exhibit in Midland, Texas on October 13. Give God thanks and praise that the promise to share the stories of displaced children in Burma is being fulfilled through this interactive exhibit. The children’s paintings are the product of an art therapy program conducted at an internally displaced persons’ camp inside Burma. Pray that more and more venues will request this traveling exhibit and spread the message about the ongoing war in Burma and its destructive impact on children. http://partnersworld.org/usa/
