Cambodia
· Pray for the estimated 12,000 Cambodian children who aren’t really orphans, but have been trafficked into orphanages to attract funding from sympathetic tourists. Three out of four children in Cambodia’s orphanages have at least one parent still living, yet the number of children in care has doubled in the last five years.
· Pray for the safety and health of children at risk of abuse or neglect in orphanages operated to make a profit off them. The worse children look, the more money is given to supposedly assist them.
· Pray for those who set up orphanages as a way to make money off of well-meaning foreign tourists and volunteers. Pray that tourists and volunteers will educate themselves on how best to help children at risk when visiting other countries. http://tinyurl.com/42a8kyy
China
· Pray for an end to China’s strict One Child Policy. Please pray for all of the babies, children, mothers, fathers, and siblings affected by the harsh penalties of the One Child Policy.
· Pray for pregnant women who are taken from their homes and given forced abortions, often late into their pregnancies, because they already had another child. Pray for mothers who are forcibly sterilized so they can never give birth again.
· Pray for mothers and fathers whose babies were killed shortly after their birth because of this policy.
· Please pray for a change of heart for local and national family planning officials who enforce China’s One Child Policy with such brutality and mercilessness.
Dominican Republic
· Please pray for the disabled children receiving treatment at the CURE International Hospital in the Dominican Republic and for the medical staff and caregivers there. Also pray for 17-year-old Millie. http://cure.org/
United States
· Please keep 15-year-old Christian held close in prayer as he moves across country to live with his mother after living with his grandparents or in children’s homes for most of his life. This young man experiences Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) brought on by violent fights between his parents and their neglect of him in his early childhood.
o Pray Christian’s mother has the ability to parent him with loving discipline and an understanding of his emotional/physical injuries and needs. Pray that Christian’s mother has truly matured.
o Pray this relocation will be successful for Christian…that he might grow and thrive in this new setting.
o Please pray for Christian’s grandparents who are very concerned about him and this situation.
· Pray for middle and high school-aged girls who are coerced into prostitution by street gang members or others who would profit by selling these teenage girls’ bodies. Pray for girls who are recruited while they are at school.
o Please pray for teenage girls who are forced into commercial sexual exploitation and then made to recruit other girls in their schools. Pray for prostituted girls who are beaten, raped, and/or forced to take narcotics because they refuse to have sex with customers or “johns.” Please pray for the healing and restoration of these young women.
o Pray for gang members and pimps who force girls as young as 15-years-old into sex slavery. Pray for johns who purchase the services of girls forced into prostitution. Pray for healing from addictions to sex, money, power, or whatever it is that drives the need to abuse young girls in this way.
o Give thanks to God for those who work to help girls and boys trapped in sex slavery.

· Please keep in prayer the families and friends of the seven people killed in an attack at a small Christian college in California. Pray for God’s healing comfort to be with each of them and with those who were injured in the shootings.
