- Pray for the estimated 70,000 children of China who are abducted every year. Pray for girl children who are kidnapped and then forced into prostitution or forced to be brides. In rural areas, there is a lack of females because of China’s One Child Policy. Pray for boy children who are kidnapped and sold to childless couples who desire a male heir. Having a son provides parents with security and someone to care for them in their old age.
- Pray for children who are trafficked to work in brick kilns in the country, into begging rings in major cities, and into orphanages for adoption overseas. Please pray for the safety of all children who are vulnerable to being trafficked or abducted. http://tinyurl.com/37nvfr7
- Pray for the parents of these abducted children as they use every means at their disposal to find their children. Pray that the governing authorities will be supportive and helpful in locating these children and reuniting them with their parents.
- Please pray for the government leaders of China…that they will be convicted to improve the current policies regarding trafficked children and will enforce those laws consistently and fairly. Pray that they will have compassion for children who have been abducted and for their worried parents.
- Pray for those who abduct and traffick children in China. Pray they will understand the pain they inflict on parents, families, and communities and turn from this destructive behavior.
- Please pray for the children and people of China as the One Child Policy may be phased out in coming years. Pray for women who were forced to have abortions, for those who were sterilized, and for families whose infants were killed…all in order to comply with this policy. Pray for families that have been persecuted over the years for violating the rule by having more than one child. Pray for this country as they deal with the long term effects of the policy—the gender imbalance (more males than females) and the potential economic imbalance (not enough young workers to support an aging population). http://tinyurl.com/2bnrvw2

· Pray for the disabled children receiving treatment at the CURE International Hospital in Ethiopia and for the medical staff and caregivers there. Also pray for two boys, 6-year-old Muluken and 15-year-old Tsegazab.

- Keep two 16-year-old friends, Thomas* and Paul*, held close in prayer. Pray that Paul will continue to heal from the gunshot wound to his abdomen. Pray for Thomas as he deals with the consequences of his actions—he accidentally shot Paul. Give thanks to God that Thomas seems to have changed for the better during his time in juvenile detention. Pray for Thomas and his family as he goes to trial—he is charged with reckless endangerment, but it won’t be a felony offense since Thomas will be tried as a juvenile. Pray that Thomas will be able to continue his education in an environment that will encourage him—he doesn’t like school and was expelled for having the gun in his vehicle on school property.
- Please pray for Kelli and the baby she is expecting. Pray that her high risk pregnancy will go well and that she will be able to safely deliver a healthy child. Give God thanks that her son Max, who was born premature, is doing well now and thriving in pre-school.
- Keep 11-year-old Dallas held close in prayer during this very troubling time. Dallas was admitted to a psychiatric hospital for acting out and taking a knife to school. Pray that this early intervention will help him and that it will prevent him from having the problems his older brother Andrew has had. Pray for healing and peace for this young boy and his family.
- Please pray for children who lack proper clothing to keep them warm this winter. Thanks be to God for volunteers and organizations that provide clothing for children in these situations. Pray that more people will be moved to donate before the winter season becomes too harsh.
- Pray that God will provide the resources needed to hire a youth minister to work with at-risk youth living on the Spirit Lake Reservation in north central North Dakota. Give praise to God for the work and mission of the members and staff of Bdecan (pronounced Bah-DAY Chan) Presbyterian Church, the only Indian Presbyterian Church in the state of North Dakota, also located on the Spirit Lake Reservation. http://www.lakeregionparish.
