Guatemala

• Pray that God will comfort and bless Ana* with emotional and physical healing. Ana was raped by her grandfather who is being prosecuted for the crime. Pray that justice will prevail in this case.

Haiti, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Jamaica, Mexico, United States

• Please be in prayer for the children and people of Haiti as they cope with the aftereffects of Hurricane Gustav. This country of 9 million is very vulnerable to mudslides and flash flooding because many of the hillsides have been stripped of trees by those harvesting firewood. Last week Haiti was hit by Tropical Storm Fay. Pray for those in surrounding countries that may be impacted by this storm as it moves through the Caribbean and into the Gulf of Mexico. http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/N26292922.htm
  
• Please also pray for the children and caregivers at Canaan Orphanage as they deal with the effects of these storms.

India

• Pray for a team teaching Christ-likeness and character qualities in six large cities in India this month. Pray that God will bless this team with the energy to teach these seminars and travel onto another city to teach again. Pray that they will be able to lead and teach with enthusiasm and clarity at each place. Give thanks to God for this remarkable opportunity to teach over 1200 Indian leaders and teachers. Pray that the participants will be open to God’s Spirit and leading during this time.
  
• Please pray for Amigo and Rejeena as they minister to street children in Delhi through Youth With A Mission (YWAM) and pray for their daughter Jonnina, and their three foster children—Celena, 11, and her brothers, Kuljeet, 9, and Shivan, 7. Pray that these three siblings, who lived under a bridge with their grandparents until they were rescued several years ago by Amigo and Rejeena, will be able to remain in the foster home. The grandparents want to take Celena back so she can work and help them out. Also pray that God will sustain Amigo and Rejeena as they work with the 15 to 20 children who come to their day care center each day. Pray for these children and all who live on the streets of Delhi.

Uganda (Watoto Child Care Ministries — www.watoto.com)

• Give thanks to God for Elissa and her work with the infants at the Baby Watoto home in Uganda. For the past month, Elissa has been a volunteer working with very young babies and premature infants. Pray that God will comfort her tender heart as she deals with the deaths of several infants who weren’t strong enough to survive.
  Thanks be to God for the Baby Watoto home and those who care for the more than 90 babies there. Vulnerable babies are abandoned or orphaned due to poverty, lack of education, or HIV/AIDS. Baby Watoto was started to provide specialized care for these vulnerable little ones (from age 0 to 2 years).
  
• Pray for all of the infants at the home and especially for those premature ones struggling to survive. Pray for the caregivers and volunteers working with these vulnerable babies.
