Prayer Requests for April 28, 2008

Haiti

  • Please pray that God will protect the children of Haiti during this time of unrest. Food shortage riots paralyzed the capital earlier this month. (Reuters www.alertnet.org) Please pray that the children of this country, the poorest in the Americas, will have sufficient food to eat and that all their needs will be met. The high price of rice, beans and other food staples has left many Haitians no other option than to resort to eating small cakes made of shortening/butter, water and dirt.
  • Please keep the children of the Canaan Orphanage and their caretakers close in prayer during this dangerous time.

Zimbabwe

  • Please keep the children of Zimbabwe close in prayer during this politically and economically unstable period in their country. Zimbabwe has the world’s highest inflation rate at 100,000 percent. (BBC News)
  • Pray for children and families who struggle to buy even basic food items because no one in their household is able to find stable work. Just one in five adults is believed to have steady employment. A loaf of bread costs 3.7 million Zimbabwe dollars. (BBC News, ServLife International)
  • Pray for the 66 children in Family Praise Fellowship’s orphanage and for their caregivers who are trying to take care of these orphans with very limited resources. Please pray that God will provide for their daily needs. (ServLife International www.servlife.org)
  • Please pray for political and economic stability in this beautiful country. Pray that God will provide leaders who will guide Zimbabwe with wisdom, self-control and love for its entire population.
