North Korea
· Please continue to pray for a mother and daughter who were captured last month and returned to North Korea. They have been imprisoned there. Pray that God will comfort them and give them hope, peace and faith to trust God during this difficult ordeal.
· Pray for children of North Korean refugees—that each child will develop not just physically and mentally, but emotionally, socially and spiritually. Many of these children are having difficulties in school due to learning differences and the tremendous stress caused by their life situation. Pray that God will sustain them through this challenging time in their young lives and that God will also bless their caretakers with wisdom, patience and compassion.
United States
· Please be in prayer for 7-year-old Wendy and 12-year-old Jason who have health issues stemming from their mother’s drug abuse during her pregnancies. Pray that God will bless them with healing mercies. Pray that they will have stability, hope and security in their lives. Pray for their mother, a second generation substance abuser, who will be released from prison next month. Give thanks to God for their grandfather, a former 17-year methamphetamine addict, and his work with young people through a drug abuse program.
· Pray for all children, youth, young adults and their families, not only in the U.S., but around the world, who have addiction problems or are at great risk of developing them. Pray for children who begin abusing substances at an early age because they are exposed to it by family members who are addicts and/or alcoholics.
· Pray for an increase in drug and alcohol treatment programs for young people; for additional substance abuse education for youth; and for more after school programs for children and teens.
