Ethiopia
· Please be in prayer for the family of an Ethiopian evangelist who was beaten to death by Islamic militants several weeks ago in Jemma. Pray especially for his three children—two girls aged 5 and 7, and an 11-year-old boy—who are feeling this loss very, very deeply. Pray that his son, who is bitter and angry at God, will come face-to-face with the God of love and mercy and that he will understand that God is not the author of evil.
· Pray for the Christians in this community who are being persecuted for their faith. Several churches in the Jemma area have been burned and other Christians have been killed.
United States
· Please pray for the college students and staff at Virginia Tech and for the families and friends of those who were killed in the deadly shooting rampage at that university. Pray that those affected by this tragic event will know the comfort of God’s embrace through the compassion of others. Pray for God’s healing mercies for those students and staff who were injured in the shootings. May the sparks of retribution, hate and vengeful anger be extinguished and the light and peace of Christ be encouraged to permeate this community and country.
India
· Please pray for children who are forced to beg all day on the streets of Mumbai (Bombay) by cartels who coerce them into surrendering the money they earn. Toddlers and babies as young as three months old are exploited to extract money from pity-filled passersby.
· Give God thanks for the vision of Jubilee Campaign’s partner organization in Mumbai to build a refuge for child beggars. Pray for the successful development of this Children’s Shelter; that the partner organization will be able to provide a safe, loving environment for the child beggars of Mumbai. Pray that opposition to this project will subside.
North Korea
· Please be in prayer for the children of North Korea who have suffered so much under the present regime. Pray for those who have attempted to escape and have been captured. Pray for their well-being and safety. Pray for their freedom.
