Iraq
· Pray for the children of Iraq who live amidst violence, devastation and deprivation.
· Pray for those who are now returning to their homes in neighborhoods that were, not too long ago, battlegrounds between sectarian militias. Pray for those children who have been displaced to other parts of the country because of the growing civil war. Pray for children who are used as decoys in car bombings. (NY Times)
· Pray for children who are taught to hate others based on their religion or ethnicity.
· Pray for peace; for an end to the sectarian killings and intimidation; for stability; and for the opportunity for children to be children.
Nepal
· Pray for the staff and volunteers with ServLife International—a ministry that seeks to build global community by creating mission communities (teams) among the most marginalized and oppressed regions of the world to rescue and care for at-risk children, end hunger, and train/multiply the indigenous church to advance the whole gospel to the whole person.
· Please pray that the long-range planning sessions bear fruit and that God will provide peace, renewal, refreshment, clarity and clear-cut guidance to the leaders of this ministry.
United States
· Please pray for children who suffer or have suffered from sexual, physical, emotional or verbal abuse. April is child abuse awareness month.
· Please pray for 5-year-old Eve* who was abused by her father and is at the center of conflict between her mother and grandmother. Eve’s speech is very difficult to understand—she has the communication skills of a 2-year-old. Her mother refuses to allow anyone to help Eve with this developmental problem and, as a result, she is at odds with her own mother. Give God thanks and praise that Eve’s grandmother is a source of strength and love for this little girl. Pray that Eve’s mother will have the blinders of stubbornness and pride lifted so her daughter can receive treatment.
