- Please keep the children and people of Iraq held close in prayer as they struggle with electricity shortages during their hot summer months—some days the temperature is above 120 degrees. Pray for those who only have power in their homes for less than four hours a day and can run their electric water pumps only during that time. Pray for children who are dehydrated or suffering from heat exhaustion because of the shortage of electricity and water. Pray for sustainable solutions to the problems plaguing electricity production in Iraq.http://tinyurl.com/2b42wyx

- Please keep 3-year-old Andrea* and her foster family held close in prayer as they go through a painful separation process. - Pray that Andrea will make a smooth transition into the home of her great aunt and that her adoption will be a positive experience for this little girl. Pray for Andrea’s foster parents who wanted to adopt her, and for her foster siblings who miss her so much. Pray that God will comfort all of them.
- Pray for Andrea’s adoptive great aunt…that she will be able to care for Andrea with compassion and energy and that she will be vigilant about Andrea’s medical care.
- Pray that God will encourage the foster parents here and around the world and provide a community of support for them. Pray that more people will respond to God’s call to become foster parents and care for children in crisis situations. Give thanks to God for those who have answered this call!
- Continue to keep 11-year-old Dallas held close in prayer as he deals with some difficult situations in addition to his Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). At the end of a baseball game in which Dallas played, a man approached him and suggested his batting would improve if Dallas’ father would work on it with him. Give God thanks for the composure Dallas exhibited when he told the man his father couldn’t help him practice because he was dead. Pray for a responsible, loving father-figure to enter Dallas’ life.
- Pray that the love of Jesus Christ will be revealed to Dallas, his mother (a recovering alcoholic who enters relationships with unreliable men), and his older brother Andrew (recently arrested and jailed for stabbing a man). Pray for God’s healing grace to fully embrace this struggling family.
- Thanks be to God that Ginger, a young mother dying from breast cancer, was able to attend her sons’ baptisms! Pray that Ginger will feel Christ’s presence during this frightening and painful time in her life.
- Pray for her sons who have been placed with foster parents, and especially for 17-year-old Tyler who has dropped out of school and isn’t interested in finding a job. Give thanks that his foster parents are willing to help him get his GED and enter a trade school. Thank God that 12-year-old Trevor and 7-year-old TJ seem to be doing well. Pray that God will bring comfort and peace to all of them.
