Asia
- Please continue to keep in prayer 70 orphans at three orphanages supported by Pishon Family Ministry. Pray that God will provide for the daily needs of these children and their caregivers. Give thanks for the recent visit of a foreign mission team and the work they were able to do among these children.
Nicaragua (House of Hope — http://www.houseofhopenicaragua.com/index.html)
- Please pray for the girls and women at House of Hope in Managua. Give thanks to God for this ministry that works with women and girls who have escaped prostitution, helps them learn different ways to make a living, and shows them they are beloved children of God.
- Pray for the caregivers, staff, and volunteers of House of Hope. Pray that God will encourage and sustain them. Pray that House of Hope will be blessed with the resources and staffing needed to continue this ministry.
- Pray for 15-year-old Alexandra* who was raped and is expecting a baby next month. She is very angry and acting out against her house mother. Pray that Alexandra will have a safe delivery and that a good home will be found for the baby. Pray that Alexandra will be able to recover from this trauma and find a full life of promise and hope.
- Thanks be to God that two young girls sold into prostitution were recently rescued and brought to House of Hope. Both the 11- and 12-year-old had been kidnapped and sold to a hotel in Managua as sex workers. Pray that these little girls will be able to recover from the week of trauma and sexual abuse at the hotel. Give thanks to God that one little girl is safe with her family back in the mountains and that the other, Josie*, is safe from her family who originally sold her. And thank God for the sponsors who have come forward to support Josie.

Pakistan (Presbyterian Education Board — www.peb.edu.pk)
- Please pray that God will be with Asia, a support staff member at one of the Presbyterian Education Board schools in Pakistan, as she receives treatment for breast cancer. Pray for her total healing and a return to good health. Please also keep her three young children and her husband held close in prayer throughout this time. Pray that God will comfort them and that their family will grow closer through this experience.
- Pray that God will protect the staff, teachers and students at all the PEB institutions during this time of violence by fundamentalists and the Taliban. Certain Christian schools have received threatening letters and phone calls. Pray that God will soften the hearts of those who threaten—that they won’t follow through with the wicked plans.
Philippines (Love146 – www.love146.org)
- Give thanks to God for the opening of the new Love146 Round Home in the Philippines. Pray for the girls who will live in this home and for their healing from sexual slavery and exploitation. Pray they will know the restoring love of Jesus Christ through the caregivers at the Round Home aftercare facility.
Sri Lanka
- Please continue to pray for the safety of the children and people of Sri Lanka trapped between two battling forces, the Sri Lankan military and the Tamil Tigers, in a no-fire zone. The United Nations claims that more than 100,000 people were kept there as human shields by the Tamil Tigers and lacked adequate food or medical care. At least 52,000 have been able to escape and are making their way to IDP camps. Pray that God will provide for these hurting people and heal the divisions at the root of this 25-year-old war.

United States
- Pray for four teenagers whose father died last week after a lengthy illness. Pray that God will comfort these young people and their mother. Pray that God will fulfill their physical and spiritual needs during this time.
Faces of Children
- Please be in prayer for the ministries and organizations with whom Faces of Children is associated and for whom we pray during this challenging economic season. Pray that God will provide them with the resources needed to help children.
