Prayer Requests for February 18, 2008

Iraq
  • Pray for Iraqi children, some under the age of 11, who are being trained to kill and hate. An al-Qaeda training video showing children carrying pistols, machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades, and participating in a mock kidnapping was found in a raid on suspected al-Qaeda hideouts late last year. Pray for healing and peace in this violent part of the world.

Thailand (Requests from the Thailand mission team)

  • Give thanks to God for the evidence of God that the team have found during their time in Thailand.
  • Pray for the Karen children and people and for the persecuted church.
  • Pray for those who have committed their lives to ministry and service in Thailand. Pray for the pastor and his wife in the village they visited.
  • Pray for the staff and volunteers of Partners Relief and Development and Free Burma Rangers as they serve at-risk children and families with compassion and courage.
  • Pray for the staff and volunteers with Garden of Hope as they look to their future.
  • Pray for the ministry team with Asia Athletic Institute—that God will encourage them to continue their plans to grow and reach out to more people.
  • Please pray for all of the Christian congregations in Thailand. Pray that God will encourage and embolden them.
  • Pray for an increase in the number of responsive pastors—that they might model sharing the love of Jesus Christ and celebrating the return of the lost sheep.
  • Pray for all the women who work in the bars.

Faces of Children

  • Give thanks to God for the Thailand mission team’s safe return this past week. Praise God for the many blessings this team received and shared during their time in Thailand. Pray for them as they recover from the long travels and from the overwhelming amount of information they were exposed to in their time there.
  • Thanks be to God for the opportunities to share the ministry of Faces of Children with many groups this spring and summer. Please pray that God will guide the Faces of Children coordinator as she prepares for these speaking engagements and travels to them.
