Prayer Requests for January 28, 2008

Pakistan (Presbyterian Education Board)
  • Please pray for the children of poor rural areas in the Punjab who are unable to go to school and who struggle daily just to survive. Pray for children in these areas who must work to help support their families.
  • Give thanks to God that Samson was able to resume his studies last year and is doing well in Grade 4 at his school. Two years ago, Samson spent his days making bricks at the local brick kiln because he had to help support his family and pay off the debts of his drug-addicted father. Praise God for the support of the Presbyterian Education Board in Pakistan and overseas sponsors that made Samson’s return to school possible.

United States

  • Please pray for baby Anthony in Oklahoma who recently went through a complicated and delicate surgery. Pray for God’s healing hand to bless this little boy and comfort him and his family.
  • Pray for Karen (ethnic Burmese hill tribe) refugees who have recently been resettled in the United States after living in refugee camps for 10 to 15 years. Pray for their children who are confused and struggle to learn English and new ways of doing things in this country. Please pray that compassionate individuals with the ability to speak Karen and English will come alongside these vulnerable children and families to help them learn basic coping skills. Pray for their friends and family members who have been left behind in Burma and who are at great risk of being killed or tortured by the Burmese Army because they are Karen.

  • Pray that God will provide the team with wisdom and discernment throughout this mission trip.
  • Please pray for the children and people that they will meet during their time in Thailand and give thanks to God for the Divine Appointments the team will experience.
  • Pray for the staff, leaders and volunteers of the ministries the team will visit on this mission trip.
