Indonesia

This Southeast Asian country has suffered much in the past few years including a devastating earthquake and tsunami in December 2004 and another earthquake a week ago. In 2001 the Indonesian island of Nias, a popular surfing destination off the northwest coast of Sumatra, suffered massive flooding.

El Shaddai Full Gospel Church supports 17 children orphaned by the floods in Nias. The church provides these children with a home, Christian house parents, and education at the local Salvation Army foundation school. The church ministers to 50 children in the community and is also developing a children’s prayer movement in their area.

Please pray for the orphaned children who are still traumatized by their experience.

Please pray for Ivan, the children’s pastor, as he cares for them and helps them grow in their relationships with God.
