This country lies in the Great Lakes Region in central Africa and is bordered by the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania and Rwanda. Because of fighting between Hutu rebel groups and the government during the 1990s, hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced from their homes and hundreds of thousands have been killed. Drought in the northern part of the country, causing severe famine, threatens to kill many more people. Especially vulnerable are children.

Please pray for children so weakened by famine that they must be fed by syringe.
Please pray that enough food aid and funds would arrive to save the lives of children and their families in Kirundo and Muyinga provinces.
Pray for the health and strength of the caregivers to able to continue ministering to children and their families.
