Mae Sot, Thailand

In the Mae La Refugee Camp on the Burma border, about 48,000 Karen people who have fled their homes in Burma over the past 50 years live there. The prayer requests from young people in the camp are centered around the well being of their people. Their names have been changed to protect their identity. Please pray with them and for them.

Pray that the Burmese soldiers will not capture Karen children or family members and force them to become human landmine "sweeps" or force them to become soldiers killing their own people. From T.T.E.

Pray that the Karen people will be able to return safely to their families and villages in their homeland to live and work in peace.

Pray that the Thai government does not fence them in. The Thai government is building a fence made of concrete post and wire to keep the Karen people from foraging in the surrounding forest. From B.W.

Pray that Thai soldiers who require refugees to pay them taxes (bribes) for safety in the camp will stop harassing the refugees. From B.W.

Pray for the physical healing of Nathan, a boy about four or five years old, who is in pain with enlarged testicles. Pray that medical treatment will be available and successful. Update: Nathan was taken to a hospital and a surgical procedure was performed. He did well and was back at the camp in a short period of time.

Pray for Mary, a seven year old girl who was put in a pen to live with pigs from the time she was two until she was rescued. Pray for her mental, emotional, spiritual and physical healing.

Pray for Samuel, a six year old boy who is blind in his right eye and has little vision in his left eye due to chicken pox. Pray that medical treatment will restore his sight.

Pray for Stephen, a six year old, who was burned as a baby when the mosquito net covering his bed caught on fire. Pray for healing and restoration as well as medical help.

Pray for Paula a 55 year old woman and her husband, who are refugees living in the camp where they provide food, shelter, clothes and basic schooling for 40 or more orphans and children separated from their parents. Pray for the couple's health and well being. Pray that resources will be available for the children.

Pray for Pastor Andrew and his wife who are refugees in the camp where they provide food, shelter, clothing and basic education to more than 60 orphans and children separated from their parents.

Pray for John, a very sick boy with high fever who lives with 109 other children who are housed and cared for by Pastor Mark. Pray for John's full recovery. Update: John was taken to the hospital and treated. The cause of the fever is unknown to us, but John returned to the children's home and is doing well.

Pray for Pastor Mark and his family who provide a home for orphans and children who are separated from their parents due to war. Pray for sufficient food, medical care and other needed resources.
